I am confused because I am generally lead to believe (by people such as Big On Anime & Miles Express999, who works at Crunchy Roll & is an expert) that anime was a booming industry at that time.We even had John Di Maggio post-Futurama a few times. One of the most versatile voice actors to work in Anime, Original Animation and Video games.Happy birthday Yuri Lowenthal One of the best VAs for young heroes, Yuri has come quite a way in expanding his portfolio since I first heard him as the rather polarizing Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto.Noteworthy performances include the Persona 3 Protagonist, Yosuke Hanamura, Shinra Kishitani, Pip Bernadotte, Marth, Spider-Man, Suzaku Kururugi, Barnaby Brooks Jr., Kuma, Bedman, Amane Nishiki, Corrin (Male), and Simon. My Favorite Characters he Voices are: Beck from Mighty no 9(YES, I ACTUALLY Liked that game, so DON'T COMPLAIN That I'm not gonna follow the Blind Hatedom it has) Teenage Ben Tennyson from Alien Force-Omniverse Albedo(Alien Force through Omniverse) Sir Galleth(sly Cooper) Cross from Xenoblade Chronicles X Eagle(from Space Racers) Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates Dromus/Gen from Tenkai Knights Rubirules from T. I also love his work as Simon, Ben Tennyson, Sasuke, Sunset Overdrive's Player Character, Suzaku, and Matt Miller. His understanding of the Japanese (& French, & German) languages is such a boon to him & you can really tell how well he understands & feels consistent with the original-language performances. One of my favorite personal VA's, usually recognizable in his youthful, cool, friendly voice. I also loved his work as Shingen, Bobby Drake, Crawler (Bioshock 2), Makoto, Karl Neumann, & Spiderman. E Gax(From Ben 10 reboot)My top ten favorite roles of Yuri Lowenthal are 1. Not necessarily because of the actor, but I suppose as an addition to a good audition. Love his work as Yosuke in Persona 4, he nailed Yosuke's youthful, clumsy, yet good-hearted character. One of the best dubs ever made, & in heavy part to his work.On the other hand, I don't think Yuri has become a Union-only voice actor in the ranks of Steve Blum, Crispin Freeman, Kari Wahlgren, and especially Troy Baker. But hey, I'm not bringing him down, here, he is a [email protected] Yeah, I've noticed it's pretty easy to find Yuri Lowenthal based on his yelling (that makes him the Tomokazu Seki of English voice acting XD). He was unrecognizable during the first appearance of the Masked Gentleman, though - that was kind of epic.
Easily one of the most talented VAs in the industry. I was also surprised at looking back & discovering he voiced several characters from my late childhood - young Superman, Prince of Persia, Jinnosuke/Kuma, Haseo, & Keigo Asano.Especially in thise emotional moments that this game has! I would be REALLY interested in him doing a performance in Full Japanese....... Just wanted to note that it seems this guy's presence in anime has diminished considerably in recent years. He actually hasn't really gotten a single new anime role at all in recent years, and most of his recent anime roles have been reprisals (i.e. A lot of his work has shifted heavily towards video games and western animation, and mostly only reprises his past anime roles, and hasn't gotten cast into a new anime role in years, mostly only getting work in the big video games and western animation (I think it's well known at this point that Yuri's extremely prolific in video games).Cheers, Yuri, hope your 46th is spectacular, & may you live long & prosper. I know some people don't like his voice for that character, but I always felt his voice and performance brought a lot of depth to the role. I also love his Ben 10, Sasuke, Luke, Pharos, Ryoji, Merric, Kiragi, and Cecil Harvey! My top 10 favourite roles from him are: 1.) Simon (Gurren Lagann) 2.) Shinra Kishitani (Durarara!! (Tiger & Bunny) 4.) Suzaku Kururugi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) 5.) Pip Bernadotte (Hellsing Ultimate) 6.) Ben Tennyson (Ben 10) 7.) Rikuo Sakisaka (Time of Eve) 8.) Riddhe Marcenas (Gundam Unicorn) 9.) Karl Neumann (Monster) 10.) Glacius (Transformers: Robots In Disguise) Pretty awesome that in the last year he finally voiced a Transformer, Glacius in RID, he was a perfect fit for the role. I absolutely loved his performance as "Future Luke" in Professor Layton And The Unwound Future! In fact it was the first time I actually looked up who he was as a VA haha. I wasn't too big on him in Codename Steam but in Fates and Heroes? So, he's got a Reddit Am A (on r/Naruto), February 17th, tomorrow. He's my favourite character ever and Yuri did a really good job portraying him! Anyway, Yuri Lowenthal is still a great voice actor with a surprising set of Talents.
He even voiced Shinra from Durarara and the Japanese voice of him actually does the voice of Roy from Fire Emblem [email protected]
